Her Excellency, Deike Potzel, the German ambassador to Ireland met the German students from 1st , 2nd, TY and 5th years. The ambassador spoke on how she became an ambassador, how important modern languages are and how important in particular German as a foreign language is in the Europe of today, especially for Ireland ,where over 20,000 people are employed by German companies in Ireland. The ambassador also spoke on Brexit and students took part in a question and answer session.We were delighted to have the opportunity to meet the ambassador and thank the I.T. Sligo for the invitation.
