A normal timetable of 41 class periods per week, with daily morning roll call, begins in Junior Cycle. The following lists the main subjects taken in Junior Cycle. These are taken by all students as a full year programme. Students will study 10 subjects for their Junior Cycle exam. Students will also participate in the Well Being programme, which consists of classes in Pastoral Care, P.E, SPHE, CSPE and other activities such as the Belonging Plus programme. Although a strong academic emphasis is placed on these as well as the optional subjects, teachers aim to utilise a wide variety of approaches to teaching and learning, including activity-based learning, group work, project work and educational trips.
