Mercy College students celebrated Mercy Day by a mass for the opening of the Academic Year in St Anne';s church celebrated  by Fr Lombard. The choir sang   under the direction of Ms McIntyre and accompanied by Leonard Dorrian. Irish traditional musicians played and students did the readings and prayers of the faithful.Gifts representing the school life were presented at the Offertory.

2nd Year Student in TG 4 Eurovision song contest

 Congratulations to  2nd Year student Kerry Ann  Mc Creery, who  along with 31 other finalists , has made it through to the live Eurovision show in TG4 in which one lucky child will represent Ireland in Belarus in November.

Congratulations to the following students who have been selected to take part in the Euroscola programme at the European Parliament Strasbourg on Friday 26thOctober:Clara Battell, Sarah Carty, Scarlett Ellwood, Catherine Flanagan, Niamh Kerr, Eadaoin Kinsella,, Eve Lunn, Leyla McGlynn, Ciara Rooney, Breanna Spollen.The students will discuss topics such as The Environment and Renewable Energies, Security and Human Rights, 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage, The Future of Europe, Migration and Integration, Youth Employment.

European Parliament Ambassador School Award

Mercy College TY students were awarded the European Parliament Ambassador School Award at a ceremony in Europe House Dublin on Friday 18th May 2018.Mairead McGuinness Vice President of the European Parliament and Marian Harkin M.E.P. addressed the students on the power of the E. U in causing decisions to be made globally regarding laws affecting the environment or data protection etc. They advised the students to be actively involved in decision making at a local level and to consider being involved in politics in the future but above all to use their vote!

First year soccer team wins Connacht Final

Congratulations to the First Year Soccer team who won the Connacht Final on Friday 11th May by defeating Presentation College Headford in Castlebar.The final score in a game played in trying conditions was Mercy College Sligo 4 Presentation College Headford 1.Congratulations to the team and their coach Mr O Dowd.
