St Brigid Cross Making

Over 90 students took part in St Brigid's Cross making today. Ms McIntyre organised the event as part of the Catholic Schools Week  celebrations.The Transition Year students demonstrated to the First Year students the art of making the crosses and each student brought a cross home as well  as making them to be distributed to other institutions.

Holocaust Memorial Service

All Transition Year took part in a Holocaust memorial service last week . The students met in the courtyard garden and lit 6 candles in memory of the 6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust.The students had planted yellow crocuses in the shape of the Star of David and readings were chosen and read  to make students aware of intolerance in the world and what it led to in the past.The students also made a banner in Art Classes in the shape of the star of David. The service was led by Ms McIntyre.

Young Americans

A bus full of the World Famous Young Americans on Tour arrived at the school on Thursday 24th.The 45 strong group are conducting workshops with 120 students from  Mercy College and 30 primary school students. The students have been doing workshops in mime , dance, song and acting and the show will take place on Saturday night at 8 pm and again on Sunday night. In the past the shows have been an amazing success as the enthusiasm of this professional group infuses the participants and the audience.
